POTTING BENCH

Potting bench is done! I am really pleased with the way it turned out. The shelf worked out well on it. The only thing I have left to do is get a container for the bottom shelf, to keep the potting soil in. I cant think of anything else I need to add, can you?? I did place the bench up against the chicken house because it is a good location. I have alot of shade there which I will need as it warms up. Putting it there covered up a scene I had painted on the back of it but that's okay, I was about to change that anyway. I would love to hear from you, let me know what you think. Well....on to the next project. I will let you know what it is as soon as I know.

Have a great day~~~~Lisha

POTTING BENCH SHELF

This past weekend was the monthly flea market; of course I had to check it out. There were quite a few flower and vegetable vendors. I purchased a few flowers and some hot jalepeno pepper plants. My husband loves them with everything! When we left we ran across a yard sale...had to stop. They didnt have alot left but I saw this large brown shelf. Hmmmm....with a little paint and add some cute little legs that I have had forever(just waiting for something like this), it will be a good addition to my potting bench. Speaking of...it is coming along nicely. I should have pictures within the next day or so.

Thanks for stopping in

Lisha

ALONG THE HIGHWAY......

Saw these on the way back from the garden center:
Is that not the cutest little donkey? He looks to be a special breed. I dont know anything about them but they have an unusual mark around there neck and legs---more like something out of Africa!LOL
The other picture is of a Texas Longhorn.

IN SEARCH OF....

I love Shasta Daisies in the garden. They can be cut to bring inside, and they just keep putting on new blooms. They look great combined with Coreopsis, Larkspur, and Hollyhocks---an old fashioned cottage garden. Last year I was able to find a couple of pots of Shastas but I am having a time finding any this year. While out and about I thought I would share a few pictures of one of the garden centers.

POTTING BENCH IN THE ROUGH

Here is a picture of the bench that will soon be transformed into a cutesy potting bench. I decided the best place to put it will be up against the chicken house. I have two oak trees to the west of it which gives shade to it. In the summer, I will need it! Can't wait to fix it up. Should have it done in a couple of days, and then.......more pictures!! Hope you have a nice weekend, Lisha.

POTTING BENCH

I decided about a couple of weeks ago, that I needed a potting bench. (You know how that is) So....everywhere that I have gone, I had my eye out for something that would work. Something that could stay outside and would weather well. Well, today I was driving home and passed by one of our little antique malls/junk shop and what did I see but the perfect bench! It is made out of old pickets from a privacy fence. They are delivering it in the morning and I can't wait to get it fixed up--containers for potting soil, pots lined up, hooks on it for tools, and a few pots of geraniums sitting around! I will post pictures tomorrow when it arrives.

GARDEN CENTER TRIP

The garden center that I went to is about an hour away. I had really been looking forward to seeing it as it has a bird/nature center, besides rows and rows and rows of beautiful flowers, bushes and trees. I was disappointed though in there outdoor decor-very little fountains and birdbaths. I bet you are really looking forward to pictures from there and I am sorry to say, I was so caught up in the moment that I forgot to take pictures!!! (Promise to do better in the future) But...on the way there I did see this in a pasture. The younger colt stayed hid so we only have a peek at her.
P.S. I did get the mealyworms for the bluebird

HERE HE IS ALL BY HIMSELF;OR ...COULD IT BE "HERSELF"??

ONE LONELY BLUEBIRD

Well, here goes.....I discovered the wonderful world of blogging about a year ago and have been following my favorites ever since. I have finally decided to publish my blog which I started quite some time back but could not get myself to hit the publish button--no turning back now! Please bear with me while I stumble through the process.
We live in the country and we have a large field that I decided would be the perfect place to start a bluebird trail. I was so excited when I saw my first bluebird. The problem is he doesnt seem to have a mate! He looks so lonesome out there. Monday I am headed to the garden center to buy mealworms. I hear they love them. Hopefully that will entice a female. I will let you know how that goes.
